The 2022 season is in the rear-view mirror as 18 teams head into a new campaign dreaming of premiership glory.
As confirmed by the AFL, the 2023 fixture will look slightly different, with the home-and-away season to be played over 24 weeks, kicking off on Thursday, March 16 with traditional rivals Richmond and Carlton meeting at the MCG.
The 2023 fixture sees the bye rounds spread across the month of June from round 12 to 15, ensuring each team will have just one bye during the extended season.
Time and dates of matches up to round 15 have been confirmed, with the remainder of the fixtures to be confirmed later in the season.
“We will confirm the dates and times for the dounds 16 – 23 around four to six weeks out, and dound 24, the final round of the home and away season, will remain floating," AFL exec Travis Auld announced.
